Some of my latest art

Before I post my pictures, I have to tell you about my waffles. I made the first batch of mini waffles this morning from my own mix. The base recipe makes 75 pancakes and slightly fewer waffles. I made it from a recipe in an old restaurant textbook from the 70’s. After I made up the mix, I did the math to determine the measurements for a single portion.

It has powdered eggs and dry whole milk and only needs a half cup of water and a half cup of mix to make a single serving. I’d estimate that the total cost was less than a comparable institutional-sized boxed mix. I now have to vacuum seal the mix with oxygen absorbers and then pack the bags in a dark box for storage.

And on to the art…

Last year I participated in a 100 Paintings in a Year challenge. I started another this year. Last year’s challenge involved 3 by 2-1/2 inch sized watercolors. This year the size is larger —3-1/2 by 3 inches. I set up the same schedule —1 painting every 3 days— as last year.

Paintings 2 through 5. Number 1 must still be in my studio.
Numbers 6 though 9
Paintings 10 through 14. Missing number 12.

I’m a few paintings behind as I was scheduled for an art exhibit in November rather than January. so I’ve been busy getting ready for that. By getting ready, I mean matting and framing paintings and prints from storage.

That’s all for now.
