The Boomerang Child actually does have a job at a local car dealership in the repair bay. But he had a rough start. He supposedly got sick. So He called in for the first four days. His manager was supportive and told him to take a few days. The day he was to start, the person who was to train him called out.
Over that weekend, BC had an alcoholic emergency and taken to the ER and was admitted to detox. The doctor wanted him to sign in into a program for alcoholism, but BC refused and signed himself out. He missed three days of work. What amazes me is that the shop held the job open for him. He worked the Thursday and Friday, and has made it to work every day this past week.
I did my last ballot box run Tuesday and just received my schedule for Election Day. I’m working from 1 until closing. I’ll need to bring food and drinks. Should be fun.
I am very frustrated. I need to make signs and labels for my art show and my templates have all disappeared. Apparently, I missed a notice from Microsoft and my subscription expired. The basic subscription no longer allows me to use the apps the way I was used to.
Familiar templates are missing. I can’t seem to import the files I made in Publisher. My logo file is missing. I thought I had it backed up, but apparently that was three laptops ago. Damn you, Windows! Small business people like myself like to use relatively easy programs like Publisher.
When I call myself a small business person, I actually mean microscopic. I sell one or two times a year when the completed projects take up too much storage space. Since I’ve outlived most of my friends and family, the pool of people I can give gifts to has gotten smaller.
I’ve switched to Canva for design, but it’s like starting over. So long as dementia and arthritis are still low key, I’m okay. It just takes a bit longer to get things done. Well, I’m off to draw a new logo, since I can’t find my master.
Don’t forget to vote Tuesday. The number of people who didn’t vote or who voted for minor candidates are part of the reason we’re almost up to $5/gal. gas and extremely high diesel and food prices. Ta ta for now.
